Absolute, relative and mixed cell-references in excel
5 September, 2009 – 02:28One of the most important advances of the spreadsheet programs such as Excel and others, is the possibility to have references between the cells.
With a cell-reference we can refer the content of other cells in the calculation / formula.
In excel, often we do the same calculations in bulk (e.g.: for net amounts calculating the totals), in this case, copying the formulas and functions helps a lot in the work.
There are three types of cell-references (absolute, relative and mixed) supported by the copy mechanism.
From the following link, you can download a spreadsheet, that shows examples of all three type of them, with explanations: http://www.medeffektivitet.dk/downloads/cell-references.xls
